Our Mission

Columbia Friends of China (CFC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cultural, business, technological and educational exchange between Columbia, Missouri and Laoshan, Shandong Province, People's Republic of China. The objective of CFC is to expand local awareness of the partnership between Columbia and Laoshan, while raising funds to assist with various exchanges between the two cities. This is a partnership that will enhance the lives of people living in both regions, and will create a deeper understanding of the cultural similarities and differences embodied by the inhabitants of the two cites.

CFC was incorporated with bylaws in April of 2006.

Laoshan is the 5th Sister City of Columbia, Missouri. On May 17, 2006, at Laoshan, Mayor Hindman and Mayor Wang signed the official Sister Cities agreement.
